Vehicle Description 1976 BMW 2002 4 Cyl, 4-speed manual w/ sunroof Mileage:
68,000 / Ocean Blue VIN:
2742380 I purchased this car in Oregon in September 2020 and had it shipped to North Carolina.
Since this time, I have made many improvements and repairs and it is running beautifully.
The car has always been covered and out of the rain, both by the previous owner and myself.
The 1976 BMW 2002 has always been my favorite car.
It has been a joy to own and I will be sad to see it go.
I am reluctantly selling in advance of moving to a colder climate where I won't have the chance to drive it as often as I'd like.
I hope that it will give the new owner a chance to own this very rare model for years to come.
It will only go up in value.
The car is almost entirely stock aside from the seats and some mechanical improvements.
The original M10 engine has always been rock solid and runs great.
The compression was tested as perfect when I bought it and it continues to purr smoothly.
Cold start is immediate.
Acceleration is very lively and the transmission is butter smooth.
INTERIOR:
The dashboard, interior and headliner are in excellent condition.
All windows roll up and down.
Lights, wipers, ventilation fan, heat and turn signals work.
No cracks in the leather.
Flaws:
No radio, hazard button is missing, horn does not work.
Small discolorations on headliner.
EXTERIOR:
The exterior is also in excellent condition with a straight body, nearly new paint and minor imperfections in spots.
Sunroof works perfectly.
Flaws:
See pics.
Minor rust bubbles in spots.
Minor surface rust on undercarriage.
Some small cracking under door frames.
Seems like there is a very slight leak.
, but engine does not lose oil.
As I understand it, the car has spent most of its life in CA.
I purchased it from the owner after he had just moved there.
Current odometer reading is 68,000.
Based on my prior discussions with the previous owner, I believe the odometer has rolled over once.
I have personally invested about $4000 in this car since purchasing it.
I've detailed the improvements below and have receipts for all of the work I completed.
It is a true joy to drive, runs incredibly well and looks fantastic.
Expect to get many compliments.
I can say since owning, I've not seen one other 2002 on the road.
These are getting more and more rare.
I have nothing to hide here and am confident the future owner will be very pleased with this car and its performance.
I've done my best to detail the condition (exterior, interior, mechanical/undercarriage, flaws) through photos and video.
The sky's the limit with this one in terms of restoration.
I have invested in this car and cared for it and I'd ask that only serious buyers get in touch.
